ROBERT CHESTERS (DIRECTOR)
Hello and welcome to all our new and returning role models. My name is Rob and I am one of the Fit The Mould Camp Directors. I first started working at summer camps in 2014 at a summer camp in Los Angeles, California. I worked as a cabin counsellor (Role model equivalent) and worked my way up into a leadership role over a number of years. It has now been three fantastic summers of directing our own summer camp and I cannot wait for summer 2024!
My usual life is working on wards with teenagers and young adults going through their cancer diagnosis in the Royal Marsden Hospital, as a physiotherapist.
This year is going to be our biggest and best summer yet and I can’t wait for you all to join us on this ride.,. .TWO WEEKS ! …

LIBBY KENLEY (LEAD ROLE MODEL)
Hi I’m Libby. I’ve been dancing since the age of 3 & trained at SJ academy of Dance. I then went on to train at Bird College Conservatoire of Dance and Musical Theatre (age 16-19)
Upon graduation, I travelled the world as a professional dancer on Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria.
Since my return I have been concentrating on teaching and choreography, sharing my passion for dance with the next generation.
I have been a role model at camp for the past 2 years and I’m so excited to come back again this year! See you all soon!
CAMP VALUES
HONESTY
We all make mistakes, and that is ok, as long as we recognise this and are honest and open with ourselves and those around us. Rob and Natasha respect honesty above all other factors and nothing is unresolvable with strong honest communication… so please never be afraid to come and talk to us.
COMMUNITY
At Fit The Mould Camp we strive to create an all inclusive and welcoming community. We pride ourselves on ensuring everyone feels at home and comfortable within this community, no matter who YOU are. We want all classes and areas of training to feel safe and supportive and we have an absolute no bullying policy, so if anyone witnesses this kind of behavior during camp please escalate it immediately.
RESPECT
At camp we endeavour to ensure that all campers feel they can respect themselves and others needs around them. Within camp we take an active stance on respecting peoples personal space, boundaries, and cultural and religious beliefs to create an all-inclusive camp. It is also our mission to ensure all campers show respect to the environment around us, by leaving camp as we find it and not disturbing nature/wild life while we are immersed within their habitat.
IDENTITY
We pride ourselves on allowing everyone to feel they can express themselves within our camp. Camp is a place to develop who you are in a nurturing friendly environment.
WHAT IS A ROLE MODEL?
A Role Model is someone who is exceptionally talented in their field. Above all they are someone who Rob and Tasha have hand picked because they are a respectable, honest and responsible person who can take on this important role.
We would like our Role Models to share the values of Fit The Mould Camp during their week with us and we hope they will be an inspiration to younger campers in both their abilities but also in their personalities.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF A ROLE MODEL?
Escalate and De-escalate Problems.
A Role Model will be the middle ground between a camper and a staff member. If you witness anything that is against our values, or if a camper confides in you if they’re upset or feeling homesick then we will need you to escalate this issue to any of our team of staff/directors.
Set up/Pack down of Camp/activities and/or Meal times
We will need assistance setting tables and chairs for meal times and for assistance setting up or packing down certain activities.
You will need to arrive at 09:30am on Sunday 6th August for Role Model training and pre camp set up.
We will need help for two hours on Thursday 10th August from 8pm - 10pm to begin packing away the dance flooring and Accommodation tents.
Each Role Model will be allocated 11 Campers to be under their supervision for the duration of Camp.
On day 1 during our introduction speech each of you will be allocated 11 campers. You will then be their Role Model for the next five days.
Each group has a different timetable that you will be participating in alongside them so you will be in charge of getting them too and from classes/activities on time.
You will also be in charge of making sure your group are up, showered and at breakfast on time before their first activity/class.
The most important responsibility is in the evening. At around 10pm we expect each role model to check in on their group of campers, do a head count, and make sure everyone is ready for bed and feeling ok. We’re aware from previous years that it is a very exciting week for our campers, some of which are staying away from home for the very first time. However, we are going to attempt to put a lights off rule in place by 10:30pm, so once you have checked in on your group before bed, please prompt them that it’s nearly time for lights off!
LIBBY KENLEY will be our lead role model this year. If anyone has any questions regarding any of your role model duties or tasks then please do not hesitate to reach out to Libby. Libby has been with us for every year of camp so far so she is well equipped and knows exactly how camp runs.
If you have any troubles or worries whilst completing any of the following tasks, please escalate the problem to a member of staff. We will be creating a CAMP 2023 Whatsapp group in the coming month.
CAMP RULES
Leaving Camp
Role Models are not permitted to leave camp without signing out on our sign out sheet and confirming this action with either Director.
Alcohol
We have a zero tolerance of drugs or alcohol on site.
Car Keys
If you drive to camp rather than take public transport we will expect you to hand in your car keys for the duration of the week. If for some reason you need to leave the premises then as long as our directors are aware and you have signed out on the sign out sheet your keys will be returned to you.
Relationships with campers
We’re aware that some of the campers may be of a similar age to you, however inter camper and role model relationships are not permitted while at camp. As a role model you are in a position of authority and power and this should not be abused.
